Did I get Cheated out of $600?
A guy from Bath Fitters came and was about to install a new tub and shower walls for the bathroom. He noticed that the pipes that led from the tub/toilet/ sink (I guess you would call it the waste pipes) down the basement was leaking. He first offered to fix it for 800 but dropped it to 600 (which I think is still high)
He went out and bought the materials and came back. Took him about 20 mins or so, we live by a bunch of Lowe's and Home Depot stores. The materials he bought were a 10ft pvc pipe and a few fittings. He took out the cast iron pipes and put the plastic ones in their place. The whole job itself took him less than 15 mins (not including the shopping time).
Is $600 too much just to replace some pipes with plastic? Just for a few feet of plastic pipes and fittings? For a job that only took him less than 15 mins?? Did I get cheated or was the guy honest in his pricing?

That's awfully high for such a quick and easy job.
I would have got a second opinion before shelling out that kind of money.
$100-$200 seems a fair price to me.
Chalk it up to experience and don't use him again.
