Can anyone explain hand painted and foiled glass vessel sinks to me?

I am looking to purchase a sink. I found one that would be a perfect color for my bathroom, but it is a hand painted, foiled glass vessel sink. Does anyone know the process used to create these? Specifically, I am wondering if the inside where the water contacts is glass or if there is a sheet of foil, laminate, or other material. I am wanting something that will last. Not something that will chip, fade, or peel over time. Thanks in advance for any information.

The foil and the handpainted stuff will have been fired at very high temperatures along with the rest of the glass, so shouldn't be any more vulnerable than a sink without those things. They shouldn't fade or peel as they are part of the glass. Chipping, well, anything can chip if someting hits it the right way, and a glass sink is no different in that regard than other glass items. Glass sinks should be made of tempered glass for safety. Why don't you go visit a showroom that has them, and pick the salespeoples' brains even if you don't intend to buy there?
